Position: VP of Sales

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the design and end-to-end execution of the Company’s strategic sales plan. This includes the development of a robust pipeline of health system and life science opportunities through targeting, engagement, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and post-closing processes. 

The VP of Sales will be responsible for the recruitment, management, and coaching of the direct sales organization. This individual will work collaboratively with senior leadership across the enterprise to increase sales visibility and reporting end-to-end. Medicom is looking for an individual with experience running direct sales teams serving life science and healthcare provider customers.  

As a member of the Executive Leadership Team this individual will be responsible for providing guidance on sales strategy, pipeline, product/market opportunities, and other information required by the ELT.


Responsibilities

  • Strategize and implement initiatives to ensure a consistent and reliable sales pipeline for Medicom.
  • Lead the recruitment, development, and growth of the direct sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Provide guidance and support to Account Executives in navigating and closing customer opportunities.
  • Utilize technical expertise to create detailed real-time reports for monitoring revenue and key performance indicators.
  • Actively engage with and support account executives and region managers in achieving their goals.
  • Stay abreast of market and competitor dynamics, providing valuable insights to marketing and product teams.
  • Develop, oversee, and regularly report on the sales team compensation plan, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Present to and manage relationships with senior management at major health systems and life science companies.
  • Actively participate in travel to provide on-the-ground support for the sales team and customer interactions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 7+ years of progressive sales and sales management experience in vertical SaaS or healthcare, including at least 2 years in a VP of Sales role.
  • Proven ability to lead large, complex sales deals with healthcare providers and Life Science companies.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully building and managing high-performing sales teams, meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Technical proficiency in real-time reporting through Salesforce.
  • Hands-on leadership approach, actively involved in guiding and mentoring the sales team.
  • Effective communication skills with leadership and members of the Board of Directors.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree or related.

Preferred:

  • Experience in federal government contracting.
  • Deep understanding and interest in healthcare verticals and trends.
  • Previous experience includes presentations to investors and members of the board.
  • A Master of Science degree.

Salary:

  • Base $175K
  • OTE $400K
